About the Event
Are you a creative or entrepreneur that wishes you had a bit more knowledge to work with engineers on a web development project? Have you ever wished you could code a bit more yourself? This workshop series is designed to teach the basics of web programming to anyone aspiring to get started.
Registered students will be notified 24 hours in advance of this program with information on how to log in to the Zoom Meeting Room and other tools you’ll need for the session. Registration for this class will close 2 hours prior to the session start in order to allow all students ample opportunity to have the technology enabled.
Takeaways: You will be introduced to a broad overview of programming and learn the following along the way:

- What is programming?
- What can you build with various languages?
- What is web development?
- The difference between a web site and web app
- Stages of web development
- The difference between front-end and back-end web development
- What are modern programming tools you should know?
The basics of code
- HTML/CSS & JavaScript
- Demo, read and update simple examples of code.
Preparation You will need access to a laptop or computer with a working webcam and microphone as well as a strong internet connection.
Course set up information will be emailed to all students signed up around 24 hours before (and again an hour before) your course launches. This course will occur completely online using Zoom.
